Code of Conduct
Be respectful and remember there's a human on the other side of the screen. We follow the Python Software Foundation Code of Conduct. All participants in Agent Engineering Community spaces—including Discord, events, and any future platforms—must follow these guidelines.
Examples of inappropriate behavior include:
- Judging questions or the person asking ("this is a stupid question")
- Soliciting personal information (marital status, sexual orientation, phone number, address, income, etc.)
- Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease
- Harassment, trolling, or deliberately inflammatory comments
Treat others as you'd like to be treated and assume good intentions. We're building a supportive space where constructive feedback is welcome, but harsh negativity isn't. If you cannot follow these guidelines, we'll remove you from the community.
Channels
Use the appropriate channels for your messages. Posting in the right place helps keep discussions organized and makes it easier for people to find relevant conversations.

Taking Part in Discussions
Do:
- Use threads to keep conversations organized
- Post your complete question in one message (don't break it into multiple messages)
- For long questions, write a summary in the first message and add details in a thread
- Share code snippets (more than 5 lines) in threads using code blocks
- Post in the appropriate channel
- Keep conversations in public channels when possible
Don't:
- Double-post in multiple channels
- Use "also send to channel" in threads unless necessary
- Ask questions in DMs when they could benefit the whole community
- Delete your questions after getting an answer (it helps others with similar issues)
- Send multiple short messages when one complete message would work better
Starting discussions:
- Share your thoughts along with any links. Don't just drop a link
- Have a clear question or discussion prompt
- "Any thoughts on this?" is too vague; be specific about what you want to discuss
Asking for Help
We're here to help when you get stuck! To make it easier for others to assist you:
Avoid meta-questions. Don't ask to ask, just ask.
- Instead of "Can I ask about Rasa here?" → Just ask your Rasa question
- Instead of "Has anyone built a voice agent?" → Describe your specific challenge
- Instead of "Does anyone know about NLU?" → Ask your actual NLU question
For code problems and errors:
- Describe the problem briefly, then share the error in a thread
- Copy-paste error messages as text (use ``` for code formatting)
- Don't screenshot your code or terminal, text is much easier to work with
- Never take photos of your screen with a phone
- Share what you've already tried and where you're stuck
Show genuine effort:
- Don't just paste an assignment and expect others to solve it
- Share what you've researched and attempted
- Be transparent if it's homework or a take-home interview assignment
Promoting Your Work
We welcome promotion of relevant work from both individuals and companies. However, promotional content must be posted in the appropriate channels and follow our guidelines.
Promotional channels:
#events— Events you're organizing or speaking at#resources— Educational content you've created (blogs, videos, tutorials, papers)#shameless-promotion— Products, services, surveys, feedback requests, social media posts, or anything else
Promotion rules:
- Post promotional content ONLY in the channels listed above
- Limit promotions to 2 posts per week per channel
- Content must be relevant to voice AI, conversational AI, or related topics
- If you represent a company, indicate your affiliation when suggesting your services
- Don't use other channels for self-promotion. Posts will be removed without warning
What counts as promotion:

- Feedback requests ("We'd like to show you our product...")
- Product discovery ("We're building X and want to understand pain points...")
- Social media posts asking for engagement

For vendors and companies:
- You're welcome to participate authentically in discussions

- You can promote in designated channels following the frequency limits
- Provide value to the community beyond just selling
Unsolicited DM promotion is strictly prohibited. This includes:
- Sending promotional messages in private DMs
- Mass-sending your resume or services in DMs
- Any cold outreach for sales or lead generation
Violating this rule will result in an immediate ban. If you receive unsolicited promotional DMs, report them to devrel@rasa.com.
Non-relevant promotions will be removed, including:
- Content unrelated to AI, voice, conversation, or technology
- Generic surveys unrelated to our field
- Products/services with no connection to our community's interests
